#009 WALKMAN IN THE PARK: 40 Years Since "The Day the Music Walked" (Tokyo)
Jul 01, 2019 - Sep 01, 2019
The Ginza Sony Park is a limited-time experimental indoor urban park. In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Sony walkman, which came out on July 1, 1979, 2019 will feature a number of special additions. The "park" will have exhibits such as recordings of Japanese musical celebrities talking about what portable music meant to them, and a "Walkman Wall" featuring hundreds of different editions of the iconic musical device. Aside from being an interesting place to see, the park's event program features live performances and other interactive experiences throughout the season.
