The World of Tomino Yoshiyuki ~ Gundam, Ideon, and Now (Fukuoka)
Jun 22, 2019 - Sep 01, 2019
Tomino Yoshiyuki is probably best known as the creator of the Gundam empire, which went on to spawn multiple anime series, manga and novels, plus countless other varieties of media, on top of the mountains of toys and figures that are still huge. That's not to dismiss some of his other popular series, especially Space Runaway Ideon and Aura Battler Dunbine, from the 80s.
For fans of the anime legend, this exhibition is a great chance to look back on 55 years Tomino's work. Sketches and storyboards, work from his early days helping to keep Astro Boy going, and various media from his more recent endeavors, it's a great retrospective on a full career.
