Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine Wind Chime Festival (川越氷川神社・縁むすび風鈴) (Possibly Canceled Due to COVID-19)
Jul 06, 2020 - Sep 08, 2020
This shrine is a popular one among those searching for love, and those who've found it. That means that crowds arrive around the Tanabata season, when festivals celebrate the love of a legendary couple. Hikawa Shrine in particular is known for its more recent tradition of beautiful and photogenic wind chimes, which ring in the summer breeze. Head over to hear the lovely music of rows and rows of chimes, creating a corridor of sound, and the colorful backdrop they create. At night, the shrine's little stream and the wind chimes get lit up, and create a magical, glowing atmosphere.
