This festival is all about celebrating the fields of bright yellow nanohana flowers (菜の花), sometimes called rapeseed blossoms. A variety of events organized throughout the festival period let visitors enjoy the gorgeous blooms growing next to the seashore on the tip of the Atsumi Peninsula.
