Last year, when almost every major fireworks festival accessible from Tokyo was canceled or postponed ad infinitum, the resort area of Rindo Lake went with a different strategy and held a socially-distanced fireworks festival meant to bring a little joy and wonder into people's lives. In 2021, the event is back again, with 3,500 fireworks once again being set off each night over the lake waters in the Nasu Highlands!
