Dec 21, 2021 - Feb 27, 2022
北斎で日本史 ―あの人をどう描いたか―
This special exhibition at the Sumida Hokusai Museum is all about Japanese history, as seen through the eyes of an artist. This unique collection features a variety of works from famed Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai and his apprentices, with each of the works focused on an important historical figure or momentous event, from the days of legend when gods were said to walk the earth, all the way to contemporary history that was unfolding all around Hokusai and his studio.
