富山県美術館開館5周年記念　宮城県美術館所蔵　絵本原画の世界2022

First published in 1956, the Kodomo no Tomo ("Children's Friend") series of picture books has always been about introducing children to the wide world of art, and over the years all kinds of illustrations, paintings, comic art, and even sculptural works have made it onto the pages of these famous books. Fun for kids and nostalgic for adults, this exhibition features 350 original artworks from 34 artists, offering a wide sampling of all the art that has gone into these lovingly crafted children's books over the past 65 years.
