The Kappabashi area, a part of Tokyo's Asakusa neighborhood, is known for one thing: kitchenwares. From high-quality knives to pots and pans and plates and bowls and cutlery, plus restaurant supplies (including Japan's famously convincing fake food displays), if you spend a lot of time in a kitchen, this area has everything you need.
For one week every year, Kappabashi celebrates its status as a kitchen tool wonderland with mascots and dancers roaming the streets. More importantly, though, the area celebrates with SALES! Grab some souvenirs, bring home some amazing new items for your kitchen on the cheap, and spend a day with others who appreciate some good kitchenwares!
