Ever wished your lip products made you feel a little more #blessed? Well, now 7-Eleven Japan’s exclusive cosmetics brand is offering you the perfect chance! The brand, Parado, has announced the release of a limited run of Sakura Veil lip glosses meant to act as lucky charms or talismans, similar to the “omamori” (お守り) sold at Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples. To provide protection, these lip products have been blessed by priests at Kyoto’s 300-year-old Suzumushidera Temple, with prayers intended to bring happiness and general wellbeing to the product’s users.

Why Suzumushidera Temple? Founded in 1723, this Arashiyama-area temple is known for its cherry trees, making it the perfect match for these cherry-blossom-themed lip plumping glosses. Cherry blossoms are an auspicious symbol in Japan, and the standard Sakura Veil lip Gloss color is a warm, soft pink inspired by the blossoms at full bloom. The second shade, Sakura Tsubomi, is a deeper pink-red like unopened buds, accented with tiny yellow flecks – a nod to the temple’s own classic omamori charms.
Both blessed lip plumping glosses go on sale (770~990 yen) on Nov. 28, 2025, only at 7-Eleven stores around Japan. If you want every swipe of lip gloss to feel like a blessing, then during your next trip to Japan, look for them at your nearest convenience store.
