Running a race in the foothills of Mt. Fuji sounds like a scene from a movie, but thanks to the Mt. Fuji Marathon, runners from around the world can make it a very real part of their next trip to Japan! Plotting a course through the breathtaking scenery of the Fuji Five Lakes area, the Mt. Fuji Marathon loops around the famously scenic Lake Kawaguchiko, passes historic sites and famous natural features, and keeps the towering Mt. Fuji on the horizon. It’s a unique opportunity for runners to get an eyefull of Japan’s most iconic mountain, and the 2023 race includes not only a full 42 km marathon, but also 29 km and 10.5 km options as well.
