tanaka macoto’s "Kirihirahiraku" (Cutting and Fluttering Open) – SICF20 Grand Prix Artist Exhibition (Tokyo)
Thanks to Tanaka Macoto’s prize-winning kirigami (paper cutting) piece “Tada no Kamisama” (タダのカミ様, a Japanese pun on the words for paper and god), the artist is opening a limited-time exhibition encompassing dozens of works in the Spiral gallery off of Omotesando this January. Escape the shopping crowds of Tokyo and take a moment to admire the exquisite detail of these “godly” paper cut masterpieces, many of which are made out of everyday receipts.
