Head to Toyohama, all the way at the end of Aichi Prefecture’s Chita Peninsula, to enjoy some fish-themed entertainment befitting of an oceanside destination. The sea bream involved in this festival are truly enormous, around 18 m (60 ft) long, and you get to watch them battle it out on land thanks to hordes of helpful human participants. Five of the giant fish are made out of wooden frames and fabric skin, each by a different ward of the city, and the fish gather each year to fight with boisterous enthusiasm, before finally dancing their way into the nearby ocean to finish off the festival.
