Mibu Kyogen Traditional Theater, at Mibudera Temple (Kyoto)
Oct 12, 2019 - Oct 14, 2019
This ancient form of theater is put on every year at Mibudera Temple, when performers don special masks and move to a musical accompaniment of drums, bells, and flute melodies. Six shorter stories each day for 3 days (18 sections in total) come together to weave one larger traditional tale. It's silent theater, so there's no language barrier - just let the dancing whisk you away!
Their official English page could use an update, but it's an interesting read that might better prepare you for the performances before viewing.
