Enjoy these destinations in Tokyo for autumn foliage.

Here are our five recommendations for you to try this Autumn in Tokyo.

1. The Street Full of Ginkgo Tree at Jingu-Gaien Icho Namiki
  • This is one of Tokyo's biggest locations to see autumn leaves. This spot is only a few minutes walk from the Aoyama Itchome Station. Beginning from the Aoyama-Dori walking further into the park for approximately 300m, there are around 150 trees panted along the road.
  • The trees are grown straight upwards and kept trimmed every now and then to maintain the beautiful looks.
  • They also carry out what's called an Icho Matsuri 【いちょう祭り:いちょうまつり】during the season from Nov 15th till Dec 1st.
    There will be stores and food available at Gondawara area and NikoNIko Park area.

A Beautiful Japanese Garden Reserved Since 1701 at Rikugien in Bunkyoku
The park is located close to Komagome station.
Rikugien gardens are famous for its light up at night. 
If you're looking for a spot to see the view of the whole garden, we recommend you to go to the top of Fujishiro Toge lookout. The leaves around Yamakagebashi bridge are also nice. The place is also famous for its cherry blossoms in the season in March.

Takaosan , a Mountain at Hachioji
You will be able to see the trees in full colour at the top of the mountain. This mountain is also famous for its trecking courses. 
They also have an Autumn festival from 1st Nov till the 30th of Nov every year called the Momiji Matsuri【高尾山もみじまつり:たかおさんもみじまつり】.

Hibiya Park near Emperor's Palace
Located in the centre of Tokyo city, this park is close to the Japanese emperor's palace near Hibiya station as it's name shows, but also not far from Tokyo station.
There is the National Diet Building within a 15minute walk and within the park, there are a fountain and museum libraries as well as restaurants.

The Oasis in The City, Yoyogi Park in Shibuya
The park was originally used as a training field for the old imperial Japanese army, then became a housing complex for the US army back in 1946, known as "Washington Heights". Once the Olympic games were held in 1964, it was designated to serve as the athletes' housing complex. The place only became a park three years after the Olympics in 1967.

The leaves change its colour around the end of November then lasts till early December.
