Kansai Tour Seasonal 2020.02.17
Osaka Castle is a famous sightseeing spot on its own, but when it's during the cherry blossom season...
The Osaka Castle and the surrounding park is a famous landmark of Osaka.
The castle was first built in 1583 and Hideyoshi Toyotomi. It is also considered as one of the three major castles of Japan, alongside with Himeji Castle and Kumamoto Castle.
As for the park, there are over 3000 cherry blossom trees spread across over 1000 square km of land which makes this place a very nice location for observing cherry blossoms during the season.
The cherry blossom forecast for this year tells the trees will start blooming somewhere around the 25th of March and is expected to be in full bloom by the 1st of April.
If you are already here in Japan and thought you will be missing out on the cherry blossom season, don't worry.
They have a light-up event going on at the moment that is also beautiful.
The light-up event will be going on until the 1st of March. See the official event page here for further details.
Of course, spring is not the only time to see the castle. Come any time of the year and you will find a magnificent castle waiting for you.
