증기 기관차들은 이제 더 이상 쉽게 찾아 볼 수 없지만, 이곳 사이타마에서는 여전히 사이타마 치치부 지역을 가로질러 운행하고 있는 증기 기관차를 볼 수 있습니다!

일본의 증기기관차

증기 기관차는 [蒸気機関車:じょうききかんしゃ:조키 키칸샤] 일본에서 SL로 불리며, 19세기 중반 일본에 처음 소개되었지만, 서서히 전국적으로 사용되지 않게 되었습니다. 그러나 일부 지방 열차 노선은 여가를 위해 증기 기관을 선로에 다시 들여왔고, 치치부 철도도 그 중 하나인데요! 치치부에 오셨다면 이 증기 기관차는 꼭 보셔야 합니다.

The PALEO EXPRESS

치치부 철도 노선이 운행하는 팔레오 엑스포레스(The PALEO EXPRESS)는 구마가야 역에서 출발하여, 치치부 다마카이 국립공원의 입구 중 하나인 미쓰미네구치 역까지 갑니다. 전체 승차 시간은 약 2시간 40분 정도에요! 사이타마 주변의 자연을 즐길 수 있는 기관차! 궁금하신 분들을 위해 일본어로 된 시간표를 안내해드릴게요.

치치부에 대해 알아보자!

증기 기관차를 타고 밖을 구경하다보면 강 래프팅을 했던 '나가토로 강'이 보이고, 미츠미네구치 역 쪽으로 가면 캐년(Canyon) 산책과 캐년 스윙 등을 할 수 있습니다. 일본 현지인들의 여름 휴가지로 괜히 유명한 지역이 아니네요~
