This event is all about the samurai that populated Japan between its Warring States Period, through the Edo Period (the 15th to 19th centuries.) It’s a fun chance to taste old-school castle cuisine, learn about the actual history of Japan’s samurai, and even learn about the strong connection between Japan and the Netherlands! The event is being co-organized by representatives of the Netherlands, to promote friendship between the two countries, and because of the close ties the two countries had during this period, you’ll be able to see subtle Dutch influence on the period’s culture. Also, of course: lots of cool reenactors and traditional performers!
