What Is Death Note: The Musical?
Since the Death Note manga rose to fame in the early 2000s, the beloved franchise has been turned into a massively popular animated series and multiple live-action movies, winning fans around the world. But perhaps the most surprising rendition of Light Yagami’s story, from bored high schooler to L’s greatest opponent (and into the shadows beyond), is the musical theater performance with music by seasoned Broadway composer Frank Wildhorn. The musical premiered in 2015 and has been performed multiple times in both Japan and Korea, selling out tickets along the way.
