This yearly festival gathers traditional Eisa dance groups from around Okinawa together to show off their skills, and the unique costumes and dance styles of each group. Eisa is a folk dance that originates from the islands of Okinawa, traditionally performed during the summer’s Obon season, and has grown to be an intrinsic part of the culture over the past hundred years or so. Dancers young and old, with stripey leg wraps and bare feet, see them all dance and drum and shout their hearts out in this fun seasonal performance!
