Shosoin: Essential Treasures of Ancient Japan Passed Down by the Imperial Family
With such a long and thorough event name, it’s easy to imagine what to expect at this event: beautiful old art and artifacts, treasured and kept safe for centuries by the Japanese imperial family. Head to the Tokyo National Museum in Ueno Park to see some beautiful pieces of physical Japanese history. This exhibition is focusing especially on pieces from the Asuka and Nara periods (593–794), when Japan was a very different place.
