JOYPOLIS Ride Recommendations: Fun for All Ages!

For the Whole Family

Pirate’s Plunder
Height Requirements: none (guests must be 3 years or older to ride, and those under 110 cm must be accompanied by a guardian; guests carrying small children cannot participate)

Start your visit to TOKYO JOYPOLIS with a ride everyone can join in on, Pirate’s Plunder! In this rousing high-seas adventure you’ll be hopping onto a pirate ship or into your own empty barrel and grabbing a pistol to take aim, because it’s the job of you and your crew to hold off Red Beard and his waves of spooky skeleton pirates that look ready to leap right through the screen. Find the treasure of Skull Island, rack up enough bullseyes, and you’ll find yourself on the high score board before you go!

MISSION SPARK
Height Requirements: none (guests under 110 cm must be accompanied by a guardian)

Immersive, physical, and so much fun, MISSION SPARK is all about speed – it’ll have players young and old grinning as they dash from one wall to another, bashing flashing buttons as they go. The game is simple, but that’s exactly what makes it so engaging. Who can smash the most buttons before the time is up? Battle against your friends and family to find out!

Attack on Titan THE ATTRACTION
Height Requirements: none (guests cannot enter while carrying small children)

If anime had anything to do with your travel plans in Japan, you won’t want to miss the Attack on Titan attraction at TOKYO JOYPOLIS, which uses lights, sound, and special effects to immerse you in the world of the massively popular anime hit. Join the Corps five years after the fall of the Shiganshina District, and before long you’ll find yourself face-to-face with the titans as they breach your training facility! This unique attraction may be based on the Attack on Titan storyline, but you make the decisions here – your safe escape is up to you and your fellow recruits!

➡︎ Don’t miss the (almost) life-size Eren and Levi in front of the attraction, either!

For Thrill-Seekers

Gekion Live Coaster
Height Requirements: over 130 cm

Yes, this indoor theme park even has roller coasters, and the Gekion Live Coaster is the first of its kind – a roller coaster guided by music! As you climb through the air you can “battle against the music” using the built-in rhythm game, upping the excitement before you zip through the air, across the park, and head towards a flashy musical finale!

Attractions at Tokyo's indoor amusement park, TOKYO JOYPOLIS

Halfpipe Tokyo
Height Requirements: over 130 cm

Start by swooping back and forth like a skateboarder on a halfpipe before you take on the real challenge of this unique swinging attraction: a spin battle! Guests can always enjoy this ride alone, but if you join forces with a teammate to press the foot paddle and rotate with just the right timing, you might even be able to claim victory. It’s all a matter of staying in sync as you spin like crazy!

Wild River the Treasure Hunt
Height Requirements: over 110 cm

Join Ellie the rafting guide as you head down a raging river in search of treasure – without ever getting wet! Wild River the Treasure Hunt takes you and your fellow raft-riders along a challenging river route, deep into caves, and into situations you might never expect – even meeting some surprising new faces along the way!

For Speedsters & Sharp-Shooters

Sonic Athletics
Height Requirements: over 110 cm

Sonic Athletics is a favorite among long-time Sega fans who love to see their favorite hedgehog in action, but it’s also a big hit with all the kids so full of energy they just “gotta go fast”! First, choose your favorite character – you can play as Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, or one of their many friends and adversaries. Then, it’s time to compete in a series of high-octane track events. Sonic might be fast, but that’s not enough to win this racing game – to do that, you’ll really have to run for it!

HOUSE OF THE DEAD THE ATTRACTION
Height Requirements: over 90 cm (guests under 110 cm must be accompanied by a guardian; guests 110~130 cm can participate without immersive seat movement when no guardian is present)

With seats that bob and shift, and gun controllers designed to take down hordes of zombies, this attraction might be based on Sega’s popular House of the Dead video game franchise, but it offers a unique immersive experience you won’t get in your living room! Storm the halls, aim for the zombies’ heads, and annihilate your enemies to snag the high score.

Frame Cafe

Most of TOKYO JOYPOLIS looks like something out of a sci-fi video game, but the moment you step into the Frame Cafe, you’re hit with the full force of Odaiba’s picturesque reality. The cafe’s high viewpoint offers an unbeatable view of the Tokyo skyline across the waters of Tokyo Bay, including an endless sea of skyscrapers, Tokyo Tower, and Odaiba’s famous Rainbow Bridge – visible from all the windows and even an open-air seating area. It’s lovely during the day, but when night falls and the city starts to sparkle, it’s a scene made to mesmerize visitors young and old.

Of course, this cafe isn’t just about the view, and many international travelers will be happily surprised to find that Japanese amusement park food is actually both delicious and reasonably priced. The menu includes a selection of familiar favorites, with a little Japanese inspiration, and a hint of zany JOYPOLIS fun: you can order pasta and pizza (topped with chicken teriyaki), go for a plate of Japanese karaage fried chicken, or choose a rainbow bagel! These vibrant baked creations come stuffed with either chocolate cream and cookies, or mascarpone cream and berries, for a picture-perfect treat to enjoy along with the Tokyo skyline.

JP Store

Before you go, check out the JP Store for some fun Japanese souvenirs, especially if you’re a Sega fan! The store is stocked with a selection of Sonic merchandise, as well as items featuring characters from other rides throughout the park, and even some fun Tokyo-themed mementos to remember your trip by.
