Have you tried fruit picking in Japan before? Which ones have you been to? We will introduce you to four different kinds of fruit picking that you can do in Japan throughout the different seasons. Which one would be your favourite? Apples, Cherries, Grapes or Strawberries.
Strawberries from Early February till mid-May
Yoshimura Farm in Tochigi Prefecture
Here you can enjoy six different strawberries from all over Japan.

Cherries from mid-May till mid-July
Where do most of the cherries grow in Japan? The answer would be Yamagata prefecture.

Compared to approximately 1,500t in Hokkaido that comes second in the country and approximately 1,200t in Yamanashi that comes third, Yamagata produces an extraordinary amount of 14,500t a year, and that's about 75% of the market share.

Cherries are rich in anthocyanins which have antioxidant properties, which have many health benefits.
Ohsho Fruit Farm

Open Hours: 8:30~17:00 (final admission at 16:00) 
Picking time: 30 minutes 
Admission price: Adult: 1,620 yen / Child: 1,420 yen / Group: 1,200 yen (15 or more) 

Ohsho Fruit Farm also offers other kinds of fruit picking in different seasons, like apples, grapes and peaches.

Producing Organic Cherries For Over 40 Years in Hokkaido
The Ohashi Cherry Farm in Asahikawa, Hokkaido is the farm that started cherry-picking in Japan.
It also has the largest sheltered farm in Japan allowing guests to enjoy cherry-picking in even rainy days.
They have over 30 kinds of cherries and over 1,500 trees of cherries.
Look at these carefully picked cherries. They are almost like jewelry.

Open Hours: 9:00~16:00
Picking time: No Time Limit 
Admission price: Adult: 1,500 yen / Children: 1,000 yen

Nakano Fruit Farm
Address: 1784-5 Kawarago, Tendō, Yamagata 994-0103 (Map)
Open Hours: 8:30~16:30
Admission price: Adult: 600 yen / Children: 500 yen / Children (3 to 6): 400 yen

This farm also offers cherry, grape and peach picking depending on the season.

All you can eat for just 500 yen!

Hizatsuki Fruit Plaza
Address: 1054 Kamihinata, Kanuma, Tochigi 322-0076 (Map)
Open Hours: Weekdays 10:00 - 18:00, Sat & Sun 9:00 - 18:00
Closed on Wednesdays
Admission price: 500 yen
Grapes from mid-August till the end of October
Although this place is not particularly for grape picking exactly, it is a very nice place to visit in Tochigi.
Depending on the season, they have different kinds of grapes in the farm.
Watanabe Grape Farm

Season: mid-August till early October
