Each spring, the historic Nezu Shrine in Tokyo’s Bunkyo Ward bursts into color during the Bunkyo Azalea Festival 2025 (Tsutsuji Matsuri/文京つつじまつり), an unforgettable floral event that transforms the shrine’s grounds into a vivid landscape of pink, purple, red, and white blossoms. For a small entrance fee, visitors can step into Nezu Shrine’s breathtaking azalea garden, home to over 3,000 azalea bushes and around 100 unique varieties.
