2023 Wisteria Festival at Ashikaga Flower Park (Fuji no Hana Monogatari) (Tochigi) Apr 15, 2023 - May 14, 2023

ふじのはな物語 ~大藤まつり2023~

Getting to Japan a little late for sakura season? Not a problem! Japan's wisteria trees are just as beautiful! And Ashikaga Flower Park is famous for its enormous wisteria trees that bloom about a month after the cherry blossoms, letting guests amble beneath long curtains of little purple flowers that look like something out of a fairytale. From mid-April through the first half of May, purple wisterias hang down from trees that stretch 1,000m² from the trunk, tunnels of little white flowers stretch along the length of the park, and other rare varieties of wisteria are found around every corner. Plus, once the sun sets, all the flowers are spectacularly lit from below. The effect is truly magical, and flower lovers shouldn't miss the event!
