金曜ロードショーとジブリ展（富山）

Studio Ghibli movies tend to be box office hits in Japan, but ask your average Japanese local how they first encountered the breathtaking world of Ghibli films, and they’ll probably tell you stories of watching the movies on their home TV. That’s largely because the Studio Ghibli movies are a staple on Friday Road Show (Kinyo Road Show/金曜ロードショー), a regular Friday night movie slot on Nippon TV that broadcasts movies around Japan. For years, children have been introduced to Totoro and his family of forest spirits, Chihiro and her band of bathhouse workers, and other Ghibli favorites through this weekly movie show, deepening the connection between the two brands into an unshakeable bond.

And this winter, Friday Road Show and Ghibli are working together to present a special exhibition all about the movies of Studio Ghibli, featuring behind-the-scenes peeks at how the animation comes to life frame by frame, alongside life-size dioramas and exhibits that let visitors enter the many worlds of Ghibli on their own two feet. Fans of Hayao Miyazaki and all the other talented folks at Studio Ghibli won’t want to miss this unique event!
