Star Island is a fireworks-based event being held in Toyosu, Tokyo, and 2019's new venue will provide a new level of intensity and a sweeping view of Tokyo Bay. With seating just 200 m (656 ft) away from the fireworks, the powerful explosions will be close enough to impress any connoisseur. Plus, hundreds of speakers will be carefully arranged around the seating areas to create a specially curated "sound environment", designed by 3D sound artist Kazuyuki Ito.

Even if fireworks don't particularly inspire you, there will be plenty else to see, with performance artists and light shows taking part in the event. And for those a little worried about being so close to the minor explosions, the event is providing a kids area, BBQ seats, and picnic seats as some more relaxed settings to enjoy the show. (These are included in Star Island's 10 different seating sections, each offering a different experience and a different angle, literally, from which to enjoy the show.)
