下北沢ミニカレーフェスティバル 2022

Love curry? Then this month-long mini-curry festival is the event for you. The trendy Tokyo neighborhood of Shimokitazawa has always had quite a few curry shops, and since the opening of one eatery in 2003 started a local trend of Hokkaido-style soup curry, the number of curry joints in the area has only increased. So with all these different curries to try, local event organizers have been inspired to put together Shimokitazawa's regular curry festivals, allowing visitors to sample a wide variety of local flavors. With the purchase of a "Curry Pass" (500 yen), you too can enjoy the Shimokitazawa Mini Curry Festival by ordering festival-only mini curry dishes, from Hokkaido soup curry and Indian butter chicken to unique items like squid ink curry and "curry burritos" from as many of the participating restaurants as you want (food prices are separate). Thanks to the smaller portions, you can even sample a few different dishes each day. Last year, 71 different restaurants around Shimokitazawa participated in the event.
