『朝鮮とその藝術』刊行100周年記念 柳宗悦の心と眼

―日本民藝館所蔵 朝鮮関連資料をめぐって―

Japanese art critic Yanagi Soetsu is famous for his creation of the "Mingei" (民芸) or folk art movement in Japan, but a great deal of his career was spent learning about, appreciating, and spreading interest in Korean art around the world, writing about its beauty and importance. To celebrate 100 years since the publication of "Korea and Its Arts," the Korean Cultural Center of Tokyo's Korean Embassy is hosting this exhibition as a culmination of years of research, on Yanagi Soetsu and the art he loved. Stop by to learn more about Japanese-Korean relations, art history, and of course, the man himself.
