Tokyo's Setagaya neighborhood is known for its bakeries, making it a great place to celebrate bread of all kinds: fluffy and white, dense and brown, delicate and flakey, or hearty with a good bite. This year, local bakeries will be offering some of their most popular items alongside a selection of limited-edition bakes only available at the festival, like unique chocolate-flavored naans, black sesame bread stuffed with chestnuts, and tricolor vegetable bread. Plus, those who love the flavor of nostalgia might also be intrigued by the "retro local breads," representing a selection of popular baked snacks in plastic packaging, all from decades past.
