Human and Animal 土に吹き込まれた命
In this day and age, when artists and artisans mix methods and materials, the boundaries are blurred between the painting and sculpting of fine art, and fields like design and handicrafts. Amid this busy blending of contemporary art, clay - one of humanity's oldest materials - is again a vital tool for creators, with endless possibilities. This exhibition takes a look at some of the most ancient artistic motifs in existence, humans and animals, and features over 100 ceramic works from five notable artists based in Japan and around the world. Head to the exhibition to see how these artists take the very earth beneath our feet, and shape it into the image of life itself.
▶ Special lectures to be held on May 29th, June 11th. Advance reservations required.
