Yamagata - Tendo City - Japanese Chess & Autumn Leaves

To those who have never visited, Tendo is known for producing game pieces used for shogi (将棋), AKA Japanese chess. For shogi lovers, it's the place to be! But travelers who've spent time in the city know it has plenty of other charms, as well. Early summer brings cherries to the area, ripe for picking. And in fall, the valleys turn into a mosaic of autumn leaves!
